If there was one GIF that could accurately sum up our state of being after watching the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, it would be this one:
Thanks, Chandler. We can always count on you.
1. Fade in on...
First footage! First taste! And it's a planet that looks very much like Tatooine. And a very ominous voiceover says: "There's been an awakening. Have you felt it?"
2. Stormtrooper or...?
Here is newbie number one, John Boyega. This is either a very panicked Stormtrooper or someone posing as a Stormtrooper. And if you listen closely...do you hear what sounds like an Imperial Probe Droid?
3. They see me rollin'
Question: is this a tiny droid on top of a ball or is the whole thing a droid? Also, the top kind of resembles R2-D2, so there's that to think about. But really, it's just so cute. And panicked.

4. Blaster bus
Will these Stormtroopers keep themselves from banging their heads on doors, because the original trilogy Stormtroopers just did not have their s--t together. Based on these three seconds, it kind of looks like these updated Stormtroopers are a little more competent. Maybe these upgraded blasters will actually hit something for once. But more importantly: if the Rebellion took down the dark side, why are their Stormtroopers? Is the Empire still functioning? Making a comeback?
5. Newbie number two
Daisy Ridley is here, and she looks like she needs to get away from someone. Or something. Everyone is really panicked in this trailer so far.
6. I'm out!
Girl, where did you get that landspeeder? Perhaps a gift from your parents, who may or may not be Han and Leia Solo?!
7. And finally, newbie number three
Oscar Isaac, looking (of course) a little panicked as an X-wing pilot.
8. ZOOM!
YES. Those X-wing fighters flying above the water gave us so many feelings in our heart.

9. Dark side cometh
At least we can all agree that this person, whoever he or she is, is supposed to be a villain? The voiceover tells us that, basically. And how does everyone feel about the upgraded lightsaber with the flickering hilt?
10. ...
What do you say about the first look at the (upgraded) Millennium Falcon while John Williams' score swells in the background?! THERE IS NOTHING TO SAY.
11. Pimped out
There are some changes to the "fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy," if you look closely. Has Han been tinkering? Plus: lens flare!
12. Enemy fire
Our mouths are still hanging open in awe at seeing the old girl bank and twist and turn when suddenly...TIE fighters! And are we back on Tatooine?
And there you have it, folks. Our first look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's been over 30 years since the last new Star Wars movie*, so we'll just be over here watching the trailer over and over and over and over again.
*That is not a mistake. We don't count those prequels as part of the Star Wars franchise. We just can't.
